This page explains what data we collect when you visit the site or place an order, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We have kept it as simple as possible while covering everything that is legally required.

2. What data we collect and why
When you place an order
We collect first and last name, shipping and billing address, e-mail, phone number and, if you buy with a VAT number, the tax details needed for the invoice. This data is needed to perform the sales contract: prepare the order, ship it, handle returns and warranty claims, and answer you if you write to us about the order. We do not need your consent for this: it is the basis of the purchase itself.
The same data, together with the invoice data, is also processed to comply with tax and accounting obligations required by law, and is passed on to our accountant (commercialista) for bookkeeping purposes.
When you pay
If you pay with PayPal or a card, the payment happens directly on PayPal’s platform: we never see or store your card details. If you choose bank transfer, we only see the information your bank normally shows on a transfer (sender’s name and IBAN).
When the parcel is shipped
The name, address and phone number you provided for delivery are passed to the courier handling the shipment, through the shipping service we use (Packlink PRO Shipping). This is the minimum data needed to get the parcel to you.
When you contact us (contact form or WhatsApp)
If you write to us through the site’s contact form or through the WhatsApp chat, we process the data you provide (name, contact details, message content) for the sole purpose of replying to you. This is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries from people who contact us, or — if the message relates to an order — part of performing the contract.
Newsletter, only if you have already bought from us
If you have made a purchase on the site, we may send you e-mails about products similar to the ones you bought, without asking for separate consent: Italian law (art. 130(4) of the Codice Privacy, implementing the “soft opt-in” allowed under the ePrivacy Directive) permits this specifically for existing customers, for this type of communication. Every such e-mail includes a simple way to stop receiving them (an unsubscribe link), which you can use at any time without giving a reason and without any effect on your past or future orders. If you have never bought from us, you do not receive this kind of e-mail.
3. Who we share your data with
We do not sell or trade your data. We share it only with parties we need in order to provide the service:
- couriers and the shipping service Packlink PRO Shipping, to deliver your parcel;
- PayPal, if you choose this payment method;
- our accountant (commercialista), for tax and bookkeeping purposes;
- our hosting provider (Aruba S.p.A., with servers in Italy);
- the provider of the WhatsApp chat on the site, if you choose to write to us there.
Some of these providers (for example PayPal, or services connected to WhatsApp/Meta) may process data outside the European Union, typically in the United States. When this happens, the transfer takes place under the safeguards required by law — such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or an adequacy decision (for the United States, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). We do not transfer data abroad ourselves: it only happens if the provider you chose to use (e.g. PayPal) does so for its own service.
4. How long we keep your data
Data related to an order (including invoice data) is kept for the periods required by tax and civil law: 10 years from the accounting entry. Data from a contact message that does not lead to an order is kept for as long as needed to close the request, and in any case no longer than 2 years. If you receive our newsletter as a customer, your data remains usable for this purpose until you unsubscribe, or until 3 years have passed since your last purchase, whichever comes first.
5. Cookies
The site only uses technical cookies, necessary for it to work: for example, to remember the contents of your cart, to let you complete an order, or to remember which language you are browsing in. These cookies do not require your consent, because they only serve to make the site you asked to use actually work.
At present we do not use analytics or profiling cookies, nor tools such as Google Analytics: we do not track your browsing for statistical or advertising purposes. If we introduce any in the future, we will ask for your explicit consent first through a dedicated banner, and this page will be updated accordingly.
6. Your rights
At any time you can ask us, by writing to info@xtee.it, for:
- access: to know what data we hold about you;
- rectification: to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- erasure: to delete your data, where no legal obligation (such as a tax one) prevents us from doing so;
- restriction: to temporarily limit how your data is used, in certain cases;
- portability: to receive your data in a format readable by other systems;
- objection: to object at any time to the use of your data for the newsletter, without needing to give a reason.
We normally reply within 30 days. If you believe your data has not been processed correctly, you can also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the data protection authority of your own country of residence.
7. Changes to this page
This policy may be updated from time to time, for example if the services we use change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated. We recommend checking it occasionally.
