Features and Advantages of Tungsten Drills The transition from traditional steel drills to tungsten drills offers significant practical and structural advantages, mainly related to the high specific weight of the material (19.1 Kg/dm³ compared to about 7.5-7.9 Kg/dm³ for steel). This feature allows a high weight to be concentrated in components with significantly reduced dimensions, both inside and outside the rod.

Durability and Integrity of the Arrow: Tungsten tips are virtually eternal. Unlike steel, they do not deform or bend even as a result of repeated or intensive impacts, protecting the rod from those micro-tip damages that would quickly render the component unusable.

Impact on FOC: Due to the shorter and heavier design, the use of tungsten helps to increase the FOC (Front of Center) of the arrow. However, this increase is around 2% and is especially noticeable on shaft lengths from 28 inches upwards, while for shorter draws lengths the effect is almost negligible (for example, a 26-inch arrow with a 110-grain tungsten tip offers a FOC almost identical to that obtained with a 120-grain steel tip).

Dynamic Spine Management: In longer shafts, the marked shift of the masses towards the front leads to a significant variation that tends to soften the dynamic spine of the arrow, an aspect that requires special attention in the setup setup.
